Q: Does NMHA track who visits depression-screening.org? A: No; NMHA understands the importance of confidentiality when it comes to information about your personal health and wellness. For this reason, NMHA makes no efforts to identify those who visit the Web site. NMHA only collects outcomes in aggregate, such as how many people visit the site, complete the screening test or seek a referral online. It is very important to NMHA that people feel comfortable using this resource and view depression-screening.org as a confidential site to visit for information on depression and as a first step toward getting help. Q: If I take the screening test on depression-screening.org, will NMHA or anyone else see my results? A: No; the test results you receive after completing the online depression-screening test are entirely anonymous and confidential. You are the only one who will see them. NMHA, or others, will not have access in any way to individual test results. We encourage people, however, who score positive for symptoms of depression to share their test results with their doctor or health professional during a complete evaluation. Q: Will depression-screening.org collect any personal information? If so, how will it be used? A: The only personal information collected by NMHA through the site is on a completely voluntary basis. Visitors to depression-screening.org have the opportunity to submit their name and contact information if they want NMHA to mail them information on becoming a mental health advocate or a volunteer for the Campaign for America's Mental Health. This section of the site clearly conveys that the personal information is being submitted to NMHA to communicate interest in learning more about advocacy opportunities. The purpose of this survey is to assess the effectiveness of depression-screening.orgsss and to find out if our visitors have indeed sought help for depression. This section of the site clearly explains that survey participation is strictly voluntary and that all data collected will remain anonymous and will be used for research purposes only. |
